What did I do today...???

In order for you to receive daily points for this Independent Study, you will need to check in with Mrs. Hoene from time to time. We will do this through the class blog. So...tell me...in detail...
1. What did you accomplish in class today?
2. What are your plans for next class?
3. What, if anything, do you need to do at home?

This is also your opportunity to communicate with Mrs. Hoene about your needs for this project. What do you need from me that will make this project a sucess for you?? Be specific!

Also, if you would rather me NOT post this comment...let me know.

Thanks and have fun!

Narnia...and beyond.

So, what did you think of the special effects from this movie? Take a few moments and respond to your overall impression of the "making of the film", not just what you saw, but what you think (or know) the directors, producers, etc. did to create such a film.

What other movies that you have recently seen can compare to the special effects and computer animation seen in Narnia? Make a list here.

Spring Breaks OVER...

yes, it is...and like you, I am a bit sad :-( But the good news is we only have about 8 weeks of school left! And in that 8 weeks we have a lot to accomplish. In case you have forgotten, this week you will have some time to complete any/all desktop publishing activities. Please make sure you have saved them in the correct folder in your tech folder so I can find them easily. Thanks!

Remember, we will begin independent projects next week!!

So, what did you do last week? Mrs. Hoene was fortunate enough to get to spend the week in Florida with her family! The weather was great and I must say it was difficult to come back! Take a few moments to tell me what you did over the break. Did you see any good movies? I saw Inside Man. Did you spend some time with your family? Let me hear from you :-)

To iPod or not to iPod?

That is the question...
Have you noticed the various rules and regulations that are put in to place to manage all of the technology around you? Take for example, the iPod. Most of what I know about the iPod is that it plays downloaded music (and videos). Take a moment and read the article about how Georgia College and State University is using the iPod:

http://ipod.gcsu.edu/

As a part of the Oldham County Board of Education policy 9076: possesion of personal telecommunication devices, it states that students are not allowed to have/use these devices during the school day.

What do you think about this policy? In knowing what you do about how universitites and colleges are using "emerging technology", do you think this OCBE policy is out dated? After all, isn't high school suppose to prepare you for the future?

Tell what you think??
